The 2012 17/18U MIZUNO WORLD SERIES will take place at Kent State University and the University of Akron and surrounding college or high school fields in Akron, OH. This event will feature a double elimination bracket of 16 teams from around the country with all teams guaranteed at least 3 games of play (weather permitting). Teams MUST finish 1 or 2 in one of the Regional Qualifier events OR the 17/18U National Championship event posted on the schedule page OR receive an automatic bid by winning one of our selected tournaments (these tournaments will be tournaments that are attended by 30+ teams so they will remain unknown until the time of the event...it is best to attend the Regional Qualifier and the Nationals for the best chance to qualify). Baseballs will be provided by Pastime Tournaments during this aluminum bat event. A team trophy and individual awards will be presented to the tournament champion and runner up. Play will begin on Thrusday for this event for all teams attending, no schedule requests accepted.
Regional Qualifiers are set to send teams from the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, South, Southwest, Great Plains, and Northeast with the other 4 teams coming from the National Championships and selected automatic bid tournaments. Teams qualifying for this tournament will NOT be charged a tournament entry fee...this is a World Series and Pastime Tournaments will be covering the registration fees for all teams! A gate fee may be taken at the facilities for all World Series events and that will be the only fee collected during the tournament. Pastime Tournaments and our sponsors will be working to provide each qualifying team with jerseys, and possibly hats, that are to be worn during the World Series games!
*Teams will be required to check in on Wednesday before the event. Teams will be required to submit a $1000 deposit to attend this tournament, all monies will be refunded at the conclusion of the teams participation in the event. This is to ensure all teams that qualify and accept their bid will be in attendance and that they play all games scheduled for the event, even the consolation games for the teams being eliminated at 0-2 after Thursday's games.
